Tucked away just down from Alresford’s historic Broad Street, this pretty cottage has been much improved and includes a parking space and a delightful west-facing garden. The independent shops and restaurants of the town centre, and the beautiful riverside Millenium Trail, are just a few steps away from this peaceful cottage.
The property is one of four cottages called The Wickhams. A gravel lane off Mill Hill provides access to the front and rear gardens. Number 15 has a front garden with wildflowers and a morello cherry tree. The front door opens to the kitchen/dining room. There are ample cupboards and drawers with an iroko hardwood worktop. Appliances include Miele washer-dryer and dishwasher, with an electric oven, gas hob, extractor, fridge-freezer, and a upgraded gas boiler.
An archway leads to the well-appointed and cosy sitting room, which features a brick and granite fireplace with a recently installed Rais log burner. To the left is a built-in mahogany bookcase and cupboard, with matching corner shelves to the right. At the far end of the room, beyond a concealed projector screen, a door opens to the bright garden room.
Stairs from the kitchen lead up to a landing and the bathroom with a white suite comprising a bath with shower attachment, a pedestal wash hand basin and wc. The charming main bedroom has room for a king size bed and wardrobes, along with original exposed beams and a view of the garden. The second bedroom at the front of the property is bright and airy with room for a double bed. Accessed above the landing, a full-height attic provides additional storage, with potential for conversion.
Outside, leading from the garden room, is a paved terrace that catches the afternoon and evening sun. Two steps lead to the lawn with its borders of fruit cordons, rose bushes, and herbs. A newly-built shed provides storage for bicycles and garden tools. Beyond the lawn is the private gravelled parking space.
